Product videos have had an incredible impact on online sales on platforms like Amazon and other e-commerce sites.
For example, Hubspot states that 73% more online visitors will buy a product when that product has an accompanying video. There are many reasons for this, but the big takeaway is simply that: IT MAKES SALES!
On top of this, it creates a better understanding of the merchandise so the buyer will have more confidence in their purchase. They will probably be less likely to return it, more likely to know how to use it without tech support, and overall will trust the manufacturer more than someone not showing real life use of their item for sale.
Here’s a short video sample of a product video we made for our partners ECR4Kids. Quality video, short and simple in layout, calling out value points with text.
Do the goods you sell have video attached to them?
If not, what could be a meaningful way to show off how great they are?
Is there a way to highlight them AND educate your consumers on how to use or operate them?
Can you show real life use of them, maybe in the ‘unboxing’ video style, or a set up video?
Do you have customers willing to do a video testimonial of the product?
A few other tips for making product videos are to:
Keeping it short and succinct, yet informational
Titles/text are great for social videos since many people don’t want sound and on some channels audio only comes on when the viewer clicks it.
Grab the attention quick. Usually that has to happen in the first few seconds
So hopefully this is helpful in getting ideas flowing on how to better use video for your team. Put together a plan and execute on one or two to begin. It will be well worth it.
